Over the decade that I have been conducting classes, I have noticed that most learners of Academic English funnel their thoughts through a hyper-logical conduit because of being lost in the effervescence of the subject.

Simply put, they feel that is so subjective and abstract.

One of the joys of my tutoring is focusing on the expansive and debatably, beautiful and confusing nature of the material you are made to learn, and finding relatable and palatable ways to assess and digest it.

This gave rise to the courses you see below. These aim to help the student holistically and organically process the vastness of the subject, before organising their thoughts for academic function.

Solidify Series

Classify Series

Identify Series

  • The Solidify series explores the main facets of the literary arts you are studying, as well as how to differentiate inferring text, versus thinking about it in your own way. The goal is to understand why such art forms exist, and why

The course is organised as such:

    • Prose

    • Poetry

    • Plays

    • Inference vs. Interpretation

  • The Classify series goes a little deeper, delving into the major categories literature resides in. The goal is to not segregate, but rather to understand the facets of each genre and how their themes can help you streamline your academic and perhaps, personal thoughts about specific books.

The course is organised as such:

    • Dystopian

    • Modernist

    • Neo-Colonial

    • Feminist

  • The Identify series goes further into the Rabbit Hole, exploring specific authors and their work.

Many times, students tend to intermingle the biographical or contextual detail of authors, with the study of their work.

It is a tricky process to navigate, so this course simply focuses on the central ideas these authors convey through their work, and how to differentiate subjective and objective views of their work.

This coursework is ever expanding, so I will cover the four authors who get the most requests each time. I am open to requests too!

Please refer to the text above the Scheduling page for information before booking.

  • These courses are designed to be free and flexible, so booking is designed to be as per lesson.

If you decide to attend all four of each course, but you miss one, you can do so when the next one rolls around!

The courses are done every Friday for four consecutive weeks, before recurring.

Materials are sent out to attendees before and after, so just turn up and enjoy.

Classes are conducted in a conversational way, so materials are fixed, but it is more of an open session where questions are tackled and discussions are had.

Learners are invited to simply explore the content and clarify doubts, or simply soak in the class.

Cameras do not need to be turned on, and participation is optional :)
